Resume tips from a sparring session with a Tae Kwon Do blackbelt
“If you’re going to throw it, make it count.”
That’s advice I got during a sparring session with one of the black belt instructors at my Tae Kwon Do school.
Since I’m an adult and also… not small… I usually end up paired with an instructor instead of another student for sparring. You learn more but you pay for it with your pride…
In this instance, the lesson he was giving me was referring to the energy consumed on kicking but kinda pulling back instead of committing and following through.
I’ve kept that with me since I heard it.
I’m thinking about that today because I got an email from a job seeker this week who didn’t make the email count.
