The one blog post that saved this consultant’s job

A reader recently left a comment on the article I shared about how to take notes in meetings like the rich and powerful.

Here’s what she said when I asked what she found to be the most helpful piece of information in the article:

“Everything, especially taking notes by hand while you are new to the information. Typing information out while learning everything is distracting; more so, it all sounds like words. I recently started a consulting related position in a new field and while I’ve always been an excellent student and note taker it’s not enough for consulting especially when there’s 3-4 calls a day and some are 1 hour long. I’m pretty sure your website just help me keep my job.”

Consulting has a different set of rules to play by, and before you can get in front of C-level executives, you need to first make sure you have the fundamentals locked down.
