Are you falling for one of these career killing lies?

In the movie Black Panther, there’s a foundational moment when the character Zuri explains why he left a child behind to fend for himself in inner city Oakland — after watching the king kill the child’s father.

And to add to that, the man the king killed was his brother…

… and that abandoned child grows up to be the ruthless yet relatable villain known as Killmonger.

The best explanation Zuri could come up with is “we had to maintain the lie.”

He told himself that every day until it ultimately caught up with him and he met his end at the hands of Killmonger.

Now why on earth am I talking to you about a comic book movie?!

I hugged a cactus this weekend.

It was a special kind of cactus — one you can’t find just anywhere.

And this particular cactus I was embracing wasn’t on some weekend camping trip in the desert…

Why people are more afraid that winter is coming in Westeros than they are about what’s happening in their own careers

I don’t know if you’ve heard… but there’s this show called Game of Thrones, which inspired this post. For the unindoctrinated, a quick google will tell you more than you need to know about the show and all the related conspiracy theories.

Now, on to what I really wanted to talk about.
