Here’s something I that caught my eye recently in the Wall St Journal. MBA applications are down fire the fifth straight year. You know why?
The journal didn’t say all of this but if you take a close look you’ll see you can break down the answer into three parts. Part of it is due to higher hurdles in the immigration / visa process.
Part of it is due to changing perception of the value of taking on massive debt. And the cost of going to grad school (or any other) is still rising with each year.
And the last part of is due to a change in which industries are the dominant players in the job market. And right now tech companies sit atop the throne in the talent wars… Many of the top names in tech — including Google and Apple — don’t even require an undergrad degree, let alone an MBA.
The truth is there’s been a seismic shift to hiring more based on what you can prove you’ve done… and less on what you’ve studied. Book smarts are great but if you don’t know how to apply those smarts out in the real world, the time you spend getting that knowledge just isn’t worth that much.
From where I’m sitting, that makes understanding how to position yourself to land more interviews even more important now.
There’s no doubt that acquiring highly sights after skills is the secret sauce to staying gainfully employed and at the top of the income food chain but there’s a catch…
Being able to package your finely tuned skills up in a way for people to quickly see how your talents apply to them is almost equally important.
So I pose a decision to you…
You can continue down the path you’re on, guessing and checking, and risk making the mistakes of many who came before you or…
You can scamper over to the link below to get your cheat code to landing the interview that literally could change your life if you apply the information I teach you.
The choice is yours.

Eric, it also seems there is a movement to MBA online programs and specialized masters degrees — i.e., Masters of Science in Accounting, Finance, Technology, etc.
I still can’t understand why people do the MSA ??♂️…but I can understand the benefit of the flexibility of online programs.
